The core belief of The Good Steward is:
God has called us to be good stewards of the Earth and all its inhabitants.
This belief is the heart of The Good Steward and speaks directly to The Good Steward’s mission, which is empowering you to be the steward of Creation God has called you to be. In doing so, The Good Steward will foster a community of good stewards who walk in their God-given authority to steward, serve, and protect the Earth and all its inhabitants.
In addition to the core belief of The Good Steward, there are the foundational beliefs. They are of equal importance to the core belief and guide The Good Steward in the same way the core belief does. They are a summary of the fundamental truths found in the Bible and are listed below.
1. There is one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things.
2. The Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, and was buried; He was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man.
3. The Bible in its entirety is the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.
4. Since the fall, the whole of humankind is sinful and guilty, so that everyone is subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
5. Sinful human beings are redeemed from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin only through the sacrificial death once and for all time of their representative and substitute, Jesus Christ, the only mediator between them and God.
6. Those who believe in Christ are pardoned all their sins and accepted in God’s sight only because of the righteousness of Christ credited to them; this justification is God’s act of undeserved mercy, received solely by trust in him and not by their own efforts.
7. The Holy Spirit alone makes the work of Christ effective to individual sinners, enabling them to turn to God from their sin and to trust in Jesus Christ.
8. The Holy Spirit lives in all those he has regenerated. He makes them increasingly Christlike in character and behaviour and gives them power for their witness in the world.
9. There is divine healing through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in redemption.
10. Water baptism is the public declaration of one’s faith.
11. Baptism in the Holy Spirit allows us to speak with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance, allows us to walk in the gifts of the Spirit, and allows us to bear the fruit of the Spirit. All these things are available to all believers.
12. The Christian’s hope—the soon-coming, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
