God has called us to be good stewards of the Earth and all its inhabitants.
This is the core belief of The Good Steward. Rooted in Genesis 2:15, TGS is a Christian environmental blog that believes caring for the environment is more than a nice thing to do but a fundamental part of our walk with the Lord. At TGS, you will find content on Creation Care, being a Creation Steward, and, honestly? Anything else that focuses on God and His creation. This includes (but is not limited to): devotionals, stories, and videos! All of which can be found in one of these three places.

The 3 Pillars of The Good Steward
The Bible tells us in Genesis 2:15 (NKJV): “Then God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” The word tend is the Hebrew word ‘âbad which means serve, and the word keep is the Hebrew word shâmar which means guard or protect. Meaning the very first instruction God ever gave to humanity was to steward, serve, and protect creation, which is exactly why the 3 pillars of The Good Steward are to steward, serve, and protect the Earth and all its inhabitants.

Steward.
Just like a steward is given authority by their master to manage their master’s affairs, God has given us authority to manage Creation.

Serve.
We serve Creation by fulfilling God’s commandment to attend to its needs, and in doing so, we serve God too.

Protect.
Protecting Creation is really the combination of stewarding and serving it. It is walking in our God-given authority to advocate for Creation.
